Trip FAQ
What kinds of trips are offered?
We have adventures that range from weekend getaways to week-long experiences. We'll explore the outdoors on foot, by kayak, canoe or raft, bicycle, small boat or a combination! Novices are welcome. We can teach you to kayak or to safely summit a mountain.
What is your maximum group size?
We keep our groups small — usually 16 participants or fewer. Our minimum is typically four, but it varies by trip.
Can I travel with peace of mind on an adventure trip?
Adventure travel and physical comfort can go hand in hand. Join us on a hike through Sedona's stunning red rock landscapes, where you'll stay in boutique hotels and dine at local restaurants each night. If you prefer mountaineering, these amenities will of course not be available. That being said, our camping trip arrangements are excellent and comfortable. For example, our NaturePath Wilderness trips offer spacious sleeping tents, dining tents, shower tents or bathrooms (where available), and a variety of camping furniture - from plush chairs and loungers to cozy hammocks. Even the most non-campy people can find comfort here!
Will you be bringing children with you on your trip?
Some of NaturePath Wilderness’ trips can accommodate young people accompanied and supervised by a legal guardian who can support the physical and emotional needs of the trip. Our staff can discuss whether a trip is appropriate for your children.

Who are your guides?
We look for knowledgeable local experts to lead our tours. These guides are very familiar with the local terrain and are warm and friendly. They will "inform you" and encourage you every step of the way.

Can I tip my guide if I am satisfied with their service? How do I do this?
Tipping is optional and is at the discretion of the tour group members. Please keep in mind that the following suggestions are for reference only and are not expectations. If you feel your guide has done an exceptional job and would like to reward them for their efforts, a suggested guideline is 10-20% of the tour cost. All tips will be split equally among the tour group. Your guide may be able to use electronic payment methods such as Venmo or PayPal, but this is not guaranteed. We still recommend that you have cash on hand for any tips you may wish to give.
What do I need to bring?
You will usually only need to bring your personal gear. We provide a gear list on our website that lists the clothing and equipment required for each trip, and we provide the rest: tents, rafting equipment, sea kayaks, canteens, camping equipment, etc.

What about the food?
On hotel and hostel trips we eat in local restaurants and have the pleasure of tasting a wide range of local cuisine. On camping trips we also eat well, with plenty of fresh and delicious food. On high altitude mountaineering trips we use fresh and freeze dried food. All water used for cooking and drinking is filtered or boiled. We can also cater for special dietary requirements (vegetarian, food allergies, etc.).
